Seeing the bright red maple leaves against the turquoise waters of the Goshiki-numa Ponds is nothing short of magical! 🍁💦

These beautiful lakes and ponds were formed after a volcanic eruption many centuries ago and are located in the Urabandai Area of Fukushima, which is particularly scenic during autumn. 🤩

🗓️ The best time to see the autumn leaves (particularly the red maple) at Goshiki-numa is usually from mid-October to early November! As per current forecasts, the peak for leaf-viewing is expected to be during the last days of October this year.

You can hike the trail, rent a boat, or simply relax by the cafe at the entrance and contemplate the autumn scenery. ☕️

We recommend visiting the ponds by car and parking at either the Urabandai Visitor Center or the Goshiki-numa Entrance Tourist Plaza (Urabandai Tourist Association) parking lot near the entrance of Bishamonnuma, the biggest of the ponds.
